Florentino Perez to Allegedly Skip El Clasico, Unrelated to Negreira Case
Florentino Perez Reportedly Boycotting El Clasico Over Spat with Barca Spokesman, Unrelated to Negreira Case
Florentino Perez has reportedly decided not to attend the upcoming El Clasico in Barcelona, and the alleged reason for his absence has nothing to do with the Negreira case, which has recently strained relations between the two clubs. Instead, reports suggest that Florentino’s decision is rooted in a recent exchange between Barca’s spokesman and Mikel Camps regarding Vinicius Junior.
Camp’s statement on social media, which read, “It’s not racism, he [Vinicius] deserves a slap for being a clown and a provocator. What do these useless dribbles represent in the middle of the field…,” apparently did not sit well with Florentino Perez.
Traditionally, Florentino Perez would attend El Clasico and use the opportunity to meet with Joan Laporta, the Barcelona President. However, with the recent dispute and strained relations between the two clubs, it appears that the usual meeting between the presidents will not take place this time.
Barcelona is set to host Real Madrid in the much-anticipated El Clasico on Saturday, October 28, and this absence could further intensify the rivalry between the two giants of Spanish football.
