Flick Immerses Himself in Spanish: Possible Move to Barcelona on the Horizon
Hansi Flick, former German national team coach and ex-Bayern Munich manager, currently without a team, has emerged as one of the early candidates to replace Xavi in charge of Barcelona’s bench.
The ‘German connection’ is the most plausible route, with names like Klopp, Tuchel, Nagelsmann, and Flick in the mix. Close associates of the former German national team coach reveal that he is particularly excited about the prospect of coaching in Barcelona, a sentiment he has shared with those close to him. According to ‘Bild’ in Germany, Flick hasn’t wasted any time and has begun learning Spanish just in case. Not only that, but it’s said he’s actively seeking assistants who are fluent in both German and Spanish to act as a bridge if chosen for Barcelona’s managerial position.
Two names currently circulate in German football circles. One is coach Oscar Corrochano, of Spanish origin, who crossed paths with Flick during their time with the U21 national team. With a rich history as both player and coach, Corrochano has managed several clubs and worked in youth development, including the U21 team of Hungary. He would be thrilled to embark on the Blaugrana adventure. Another name is Christian Fiel, the current coach of Nuremberg, hailing from Galicia, Spain, with an extensive track record. Flick is embracing the Spanish language, just in case.
