FC Barcelona Players Cata Coll and Mariona Caldentey Honored with Ramon Llull Award

In a ceremony held by the Balearic government, FC Barcelona players Cata Coll and Mariona Caldentey were presented with the prestigious Ramon Llull Award. The Consell de Govern also bestowed the Gold Medal of the CAIB upon Queen Sofía. The accolades were granted to the Mallorcan athletes ahead of their Sunday match against Atlético Madrid. Both Cata Coll and Mariona have received call-ups for the final stage of the Nations League with the Spanish national team.

Related News: The Balearic government has extended the same award to various professionals from the region. The Ramon Llull Awards, the highest distinctions of the CAIB, will be officially conferred on February 29 at the Llotja.

In addition, Antoni Costa, spokesperson for the Govern, announced that Queen Sofía has been honored with the Gold Medal of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands. Costa emphasized the Queen’s close ties to the Balearic Islands, particularly the island of Mallorca.
