Revealed: The Actual Amount Barcelona Will Receive for Dembele
Although Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will pay Barcelona €50m for Ousmane Dembele’s transfer, it is worth noting that 45 per cent of the fee will still go to the player and his agent, Moussa Sissoko. This means that Barca will receive approximately €27.5m from the deal, while Dembele and his agent will collectively pocket €22.5m.
While it may seem like a significant portion of the fee going to the player and his representative, this arrangement is still more favorable for Barcelona compared to if PSG had triggered Dembele’s €50m release clause before August 1. In that scenario, Barcelona would have received only half of the fee, amounting to €25m.
Apart from the financial aspect, Dembele’s departure will also free up considerable space in Barcelona’s wage budget. This newfound financial flexibility could pave the way for various possibilities, such as registering Vitor Roque this summer or potentially signing a top player on loan.
With Dembele’s exit on the horizon, Barcelona is expected to be on the lookout for a right-back replacement. The club has reportedly set their sights on two options: Joao Cancelo or Ivan Fresneda. Securing a quality right-back will be crucial for bolstering the squad and addressing the void left by Dembele’s departure.
As the transfer window progresses, Barcelona will be closely monitoring the situation and making strategic moves to strengthen the team for the upcoming season. While Dembele’s exit marks the end of an era, it also presents new opportunities for the club to reshape and reinforce the squad in their pursuit of success.
