“They robbed my teams so many times”: Former Barcelona player Arturo Vidal criticizes Real Madrid
In a recent Twitch stream, Arturo Vidal, the former Barcelona midfielder, didn’t mince his words when discussing his experiences facing Real Madrid on the football pitch. Vidal, who played for Barcelona from 2018 to 2020, expressed his frustration with the refereeing decisions that seemed to consistently go against his teams when playing against Real Madrid.
Vidal went on to say, “Sometimes I am not even sure in which exact game [I was sent off].” His frustration was palpable as he reminisced about the numerous occasions when he felt his teams had been unjustly treated in matches against their arch-rivals.
During his time at Barcelona, Vidal was sent off twice when facing Real Madrid. One of those red cards came as a result of a tackle on Marco Asensio, a decision that Vidal clearly disagreed with and believed he had fairly won the ball.
Vidal’s time at Barcelona was marked by his tenacity and fierce competitiveness, and he made a significant impact during his spell at the club. He managed to score 11 goals and provide 11 assists in 96 appearances for the Blaugrana.
Nowadays, Vidal continues his football journey, playing alongside Vitor Roque at Paranaense, as he looks to make new memories and perhaps avoid the controversies that occasionally marred his encounters with Real Madrid during his time in La Liga.
