Xavi Offers Injury Updates on Gundogan and Araujo, Reveals Plan for Pedri

“Gundogan had the blow on his back. We will see how he is today and we will decide tomorrow, although in principle he should be fit to play tomorrow,” Xavi said in his press conference for the game against Real Betis.

“Araújo is also progressing well. If all goes well, Araujo will return this week,” Xavi added.

The Barca coach confirmed that Barca have instituted a prevention plan to stop their players from winding up injured regularly.

“All players have an injury prevention plan,” Xavi said. “We should not focus on Pedri. There are injuries in all teams due to the demanding schedule. It’s inevitable with stress and fatigue.”

Araujo and Pedri are the two players who are certain to miss out on the game against Betis due to injury.

Barcelona have won three and drawn one of their first four games so far in the season.
