Unveiled: Barcelona Players Received Zero Euro Bonus for Winning La Liga
Barcelona players and staff did not receive any bonuses for winning La Liga last season, as reported by Diario AS. In contrast, they were granted a significant €10,000 bonus for their victory in the Spanish Super Cup held in Riyadh in January.
The explanation provided by Barcelona for not allocating a bonus for winning the league was a lack of budget allocated for such a reward. Additionally, club officials pointed out that Barcelona had been clear favorites to secure the league title for several weeks leading up to its official confirmation in May.
Moreover, the club’s leadership highly valued winning the title under the management of Xavi, especially since it involved a significant victory against Real Madrid with a score of 3-1.
Despite the absence of bonus payments for winning La Liga, Barcelona players and staff did not voice any complaints, as they were originally promised substantial bonuses contingent on their performance in both the Champions League and La Liga.
