Ilkay Gundogan, after Barcelona’s disappointing loss to Real Madrid in La Liga, expressed his discontent with the reaction of his teammates. Speaking to Optus Sport after the match, he shared his frustration, saying, “I didn’t come here to lose these types of games. To be honest, I wish this defeat affected us more.”
Gundogan continued, “I was in the dressing room, and while people are naturally disappointed, especially after a significant loss, I wish there was more frustration and anger.”
He emphasized the need for greater emotional response, especially in the face of defeat, explaining, “This is a problem. There has to be more emotion, especially when you lose. You know that you can perform better, especially in certain situations, and you just don’t react. We need to take a significant step in that regard; otherwise, Real Madrid, or even Girona, will pull away from us.”
