This seemingly casual behavior prompted the German midfielder to give a critical post-game interview.
It appears that Gundogan believed that the Barcelona players didn’t attach as much significance to the Clasico result as he did. Known for his competitive spirit, it’s no surprise considering the esteemed clubs he represented before donning the Barca jersey.
Interestingly, Xavi, the Barcelona coach, doesn’t feel the need to address Gundogan’s post-match remarks, deeming them ‘normal.’ Overall, the coaching staff seems content with the German midfielder’s mentality, despite the 2-1 loss in El Clasico.
