Carles Puyol Denies Referee Bribing Claims During His Time at Barcelona
When questioned about whether Barcelona had ever engaged in bribing referees during his tenure at the club, Carles Puyol emphatically stated, “Barça has not bought referees. I am convinced.”
Puyol continued, “At no point did I sense any preferential treatment from the referees; it was quite the opposite. I never felt they were assisting us.”
