Spain Cautious with Pedri: May Limit His Role in Upcoming Euro Qualifiers
Spain is contemplating the exclusion of Pedri from their squad for the Euro qualifiers this month, aiming to protect the player from a potential injury relapse, as reported by various sources.
The plan is to gradually reintegrate Pedri into international football, considering he has been sidelined for nearly six months. Remarkably, Pedri has not had the opportunity to represent Spain under the new manager, Luis De La Fuente.
According to SPORT, Pedri might receive an invitation but could be allocated limited minutes in the games, given Spain has already secured qualification for the Euros. However, his participation largely depends on his performance for Barcelona in the Champions League match against Shakhtar on Tuesday.
Pedri made his return to the field for Barca in their recent victory against Sociedad, marking his first appearance since August. While Barca has confirmed the star midfielder’s full fitness, concerns still linger about the risk of a relapse if the player is overexerted.
