Real Betis Keen to Secure Chadi Riad Permanently After Impressive Loan Spell
Real Betis is reportedly looking to exercise the purchase option in Chadi Riad’s loan agreement from Barcelona, as they have been thoroughly impressed by the young defender.
Riad joined Real Betis on a season-long loan from Barcelona in the summer, and the loan deal includes an option to buy.
Having made seven appearances in La Liga for Betis this season, Riad’s performances have convinced the club to pursue a permanent acquisition, as per reports from El Desmarque.
Riad’s case has been boosted by Betis facing a shortage of defensive options due to injuries and the departure of Luiz Felipe. Nevertheless, it is evident that he has made a positive impression during his brief time with the club.
Bojan, speaking about Riad’s progress, expressed his satisfaction: “His situation is a little different from the rest (due to the purchase option), but we are closely monitoring his development.”
“He has played a significant role in one of the teams that consistently showcases some of the finest football in La Liga, underscoring his growth.”
The purchase option for Riad is believed to be around €3 million, with Barcelona also holding a buy-back option set at €7 million, in addition to reserving 50% of any future transfer fee.
