Xavi Addresses Lewandowski’s Form Concerns: Emphasizes Need for Improved Positional Play

In a recent media statement, Xavi shed light on Robert Lewandowski’s current form, asserting that the striker is in optimal condition. Xavi attributed the scoring challenges to a perceived lack of positional play within the team.

“He [Lewandowski] is at 100 per cent. He thinks the lack of positional play is the problem,” Xavi remarked. “We haven’t attacked well or supported Robert the way we usually do. I insist that the problem is the lack of positional play. We need to improve it. It applies to everyone in his position,” added the Barca boss.

Lewandowski’s goal drought dates back to September 23 when Barcelona defeated Celta Vigo at home. The 35-year-old subsequently missed three games due to injury. With the upcoming match against Alaves on Sunday, Xavi remains optimistic that Lewandowski will have the opportunity to reignite his scoring prowess.
