Barcelona’s Deco Laments Injury Woes: Raphinha Out, Pedri Returns
Barcelona Sporting Director Deco expressed the team’s ongoing struggles with injuries, acknowledging the challenges posed by the demanding schedule at the club. While lamenting the loss of Raphinha to a fresh hamstring injury suffered in the recent win against Osasuna, Deco also highlighted the positive return of Pedri.
“It’s a shame to lose Raphinha, but we’re getting Pedri back. We’re a little used to it, but it’s a shame because he’s an important player for us,” Deco stated.
Raphinha’s injury, reminiscent of a similar setback earlier in the season, is expected to keep him out for about a month, ruling him out of the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid on Sunday. Despite a somewhat challenging season for Raphinha, having scored four goals in 20 matches, he remains a key contributor with seven assists, jointly holding the highest assist tally for any Barcelona player this term.
