Xavi Addresses Real Madrid TV Criticism: Focus on Respect and Football
In the lead-up to the Athletic Bilbao game, Barcelona’s head coach, Xavi, faced questions about Real Madrid TV’s critique of his comments regarding the refereeing in the Almeria match. Responding calmly, Xavi stated, “RMTV’s response to me? I’ve always respected Real Madrid. I’ve never lacked respect towards anyone. And if I did, I have asked for forgiveness. I’m not for war. I respect opinions, videos, memes. I take it with humor.”
Elaborating on why he addressed refereeing in La Liga after the Real Betis game, Xavi explained, “I talk about the referees because you asked me. I like to speak out, and I reiterate my words. These are the feelings I have had. I like to talk about the game, but you saw and heard it. You analyze it yourselves, and I’m sure we all agree. It’s time to talk about football; the news is in Madrid, not here.”
With his focus firmly on guiding Barcelona through the Copa Del Rey quarter-finals, Xavi is determined to lead the team to victory against Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday, January 24.
