Rafa Márquez Welcomes New Striking Force: Naim García Joins Barça Atlètic

Rafa Márquez has received one of the reinforcements he has been eagerly seeking. Following the injury to Ángel Alarcón, who suffered a “rupture of the proximal tendon of the biceps femoris in the left leg,” the Mexican coach now has a new attacking reference: Naim García. FC Barcelona announced this afternoon the addition of the player from CD Leganés, who joins on loan until June 30, 2024, with a purchase option.

The forward joined the ‘pepinero’ team after progressing through the youth ranks of Real Madrid (up to Cadete B). His development at Leganés earned him a place in the first team in the 2021-22 season, and this season, the Madrid-born player has featured in 12 matches (10 in Liga Hypermotion and 2 in the Copa del Rey).

Naim is a winger with the versatility to play on both flanks, and he stands out primarily for his dribbling skills. With this addition, Márquez gains more dynamism in the attacking third.
