The Santos Laguna board did not appreciate being offered such a small sum for a one-year loan. They said, ‘No, thank you,’ and dismissed the offer. The proposal was for 50,000 euros to see how well this young player performs in Barcelona Athletic and then explore the option of buying him—a deal that could have been beneficial for Santos.”
