Fermin Lopez Officially Joins Barcelona’s First Team
Fermin Lopez has officially become a first-team player in every aspect. The 20-year-old from Huelva made his debut in Xavi Hernandez’s team in La Liga on August 27, 2023, against Villarreal (3-4), delivering an impressive second half. Since then, he has played in 22 official matches, scoring three goals across all four competitions, donning the number 32, which he will no longer wear. This Wednesday (7:00 p.m.), he will sport the number 16 against Osasuna, as reported by RAC 1.
Lopez signed his contract extension until 2027 on October 24, which was updated this Tuesday and approved by LaLiga, officially listed under the Transfers section. Barcelona had a small ‘fair play’ allowance to include him within the salary cap limits. After posing in the gardens of La Masia with his new jersey, he expressed his joy at continuing to progress: “It’s a dream come true, and I will work to achieve more success.”
Having established himself after an impressive spell last season with Linares, where he was loaned to play in Primera RFEF, scoring 12 goals in 37 appearances, this season he has only played one game with Barcelona Atlètic. Unfortunately, he was sent off in the 47th minute during the match against Nàstic de Tarragona (1-0) on September 10.
