Vitor Roque Breaks Through: Young Brazilian’s Historic Goal for FC Barcelona
The day has arrived. After several close calls and a couple of clear opportunities, Vitor Roque has finally opened his goal-scoring account with the FC Barcelona jersey. In the 20th matchday clash against Osasuna, Xavi Hernández decided to bring in ‘Tigrinho’ in the 62nd minute, substituting Fermín López.
The Brazilian made his debut on January 4th in Las Palmas with his new team. At just 18 years old, the young forward from Minas Gerais scored his first goal in Europe. After being on the pitch for a minute and a half at Montjuïc, he received a precise cross from Cancelo and scored with a superb header.
It was a tremendous release for the former Athletico Paranaense player, who knelt on the field, expressing gratitude for his first goal in the Barcelona shirt. He celebrated the milestone with his teammate Cancelo, who was making a starting appearance after a month.
At 18 years, 11 months, and three days old, Roque becomes the youngest Brazilian to score in the history of FC Barcelona.
