Sandro Rosell: Triumphs in Sixth Legal Battle, Exposing a Controversial Persecution
This week, a new judicial acquittal has been granted to Sandro Rosell. He was accused of organ trafficking, allegedly purchasing an illegal liver for the transplant of Eric Abidal. The judge dismissed the case due to the absence of evidence of criminal activity, deeming it as “mere conjecture or suspicion.”
This marks the sixth legal victory for Sandro Rosell, a figure who, in light of recent events (considering statements made by Commissioner Villarejo), appears to have faced genuine persecution, especially after his tenure as president of FC Barcelona. By the way, one question remains: Has Laporta finally filed a complaint against Villarejo?
Previously, Rosell had been acquitted of money laundering and organized crime (having spent nearly two years in prison), as well as charges related to disclosure of secrets, tax evasion, and twice in the cases known as ‘Neymar Case 1’ (tax fraud) and ‘Neymar Case 2’ (corruption and simulated contract).
The personal and likely economic damage inflicted on Sandro Rosell is irreparable, but at least life has afforded him some moral restitution as he gradually uncovers those behind or involved in his predicament. There is still an ongoing legal process, the ‘Negreira Case,’ once again a consequence of twisting criminal law. If it were to be dismissed or result in acquittal, it would be seven out of seven. Truly remarkable.
