Jorge Mendes Nearing Representation Deal with Héctor Fort
Jorge Mendes, one of the most influential football agents, is reportedly on the verge of adding Barcelona’s Héctor Fort to his clientele, as per ESPN. The Portuguese agent already represents other Barcelona players, including Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal. Both Joao Cancelo and Joao Félix, who are currently on loan, are also under Mendes’ representation.
Héctor Fort, set to turn 18 on August 2nd, made his debut for the Barcelona first team this season on November 13, 2023, in the Champions League group stage match against Antwerp (3-2).
Since then, the Barcelona academy product has featured in four more games – two in La Liga against Villarreal (as a starter) and Alavés (coming on in the second half for Joao Cancelo), and two in the Copa del Rey against Barbastro (as a starter) and Athletic Bilbao (on the bench).
With Balde sidelined due to injury, having undergone surgery on January 30 in Turku, Finland (right thigh hamstring tendon), Héctor Fort has had more opportunities to showcase his capabilities to Xavi, proving he can be relied upon in either the right or left flank.
Mendes, who also represents Barcelona’s Joao Cancelo (Manchester City) and Joao Félix (Atlético Madrid), oversees the contracts of both players, set to expire on June 30, with Barcelona lacking an option to buy either. Additionally, Mendes looks after the interests of Ansu Fati, currently on loan to Brighton until June 30 (without a purchase option).
