Paris Brunner: Highly Sought-After Talent Sparks Interest Across Europe
Paris Brunner has emerged as one of the coveted prospects in European football. The young forward from Borussia Dortmund stands out as one of the most promising players on the continent, recently showcasing his talent by leading Germany to victory in both the Under-17 European Championship and World Cup, earning him the title of the tournaments’ best player.
Previously, the focus was on Noah Darvich, whom they acquired for €2.5 million from Freiburg. However, Brunner has continued to progress, drawing attention from other top clubs. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund is working to secure his continuity by offering him a professional contract that would increase his current earnings by €600,000.
The Rhineland club aimed to finalize the renewal before Brunner turns 18, but they won’t meet the deadline, as the young forward will reach majority on February 15. Nevertheless, Borussia will meet again with Brunner’s father and representative, Norbert Brunner, to try to bridge the gap.
Norbert Brunner had to address reports claiming he was negotiating his son’s departure with a top Italian club. “The story that the last time I was in Italy was to negotiate a transfer has no basis. There is absolutely nothing,” stated Brunner’s father, who doesn’t rule out his son’s continuation at Dortmund. “The talks with Borussia Dortmund are still ongoing, but nothing has been decided yet. For Paris, at his age, the top priority is clearly the sporting perspective, not the financial conditions.”
