Deco’s Controversial Statements Spark Reaction from Víctor Font

The controversial remarks made by Deco in the magazine ‘Nascer do Sol,’ where the FC Barcelona’s sporting director claims that the club’s method is “exhausted,” have stirred up a lot of controversy within the famous environment of the Catalan club. One of the most notable reactions came from Víctor Font, the main opponent of Joan Laporta’s board after finishing second in the presidential elections of Barcelona held on March 7, 2021.

“I suppose Deco doesn’t mean this, and it must be a misunderstanding. Because what needs to change, urgently because it’s exhausted, is the management model, not the playing model. A playing model that defines us and continues to succeed outside our club! We may lose games, even titles, but please, let’s defend with everything the traits that make us distinctive and turn us into the best club in the world,” Font wrote on Twitter.
