Appeal Dismissed: Former Barcelona Executive Albert Soler Cleared of Imputation in ‘Negreira Case
The Barcelona Court has rejected the appeal filed by the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation) seeking the indictment of former Barça executive and ex-director general of sports at CSD, Albert Soler, on charges of prevarication and omission of the duty to prosecute crimes in relation to the ‘Negreira case.’
The court’s ruling, dated February 8, 2024, states that Soler “was unaware of any payments being made to the companies (of José María Enríquez Negreira and his son Javier) and, in any case, had no obligation to report any facts to the authorities since it was not until September 21, 2022, when the judicial police attached to the Public Prosecutor’s Office questioned him as a witness.”
