RB Leipzig has made sports business headlines by officially parting ways with Nike and embracing Puma as its new sponsor in a groundbreaking 10-year agreement. This significant shift has sparked interest not only in the football community but also among top clubs, with FC Barcelona reportedly contemplating a similar move to Puma for enhanced economic gains.

Commencing on July 1, 2024, the collaboration between RB Leipzig and Puma will see the Herzogenaurach-based sportswear company outfitting all teams affiliated with the club, including both the men’s and women’s teams, as well as the youth teams.

The partnership encompasses comprehensive sponsorship and merchandising rights, advertising services on matchdays at the Red Bull Arena, and involvement with the RB Leipzig Football Academy, as highlighted in the official announcement by the German club.

Johan Plenge, CEO of RB Leipzig, expressed satisfaction with the long-term (10 years) partnership, stating, “We are very pleased to have established a long-term partnership with such a renowned company. For RB Leipzig, collaborating with Puma is another significant and important step in its development.”

Arne Freundt, CEO of Puma, commented on the swift rise of RB Leipzig’s reputation not only in Germany but also internationally. He expressed anticipation for many great football moments and pledged Puma’s support for the club’s successful journey in the years to come.
