Aleix Garrido’s Operation Date Set as Barça Atlètic Faces Loss of Key Midfielder

This season has not been kind to Ripoll’s native, who, after recovering from a minor muscle injury in his right calf against Leonesa, now faces a more severe setback – a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his left foot that requires surgery. Garrido, a cherished figure in the team, has been understandably affected by the news, looking at a potential three-month hiatus.
Immediate support from teammates and the coaching staff provided comfort, and as hours passed, the talented midfielder is now in higher spirits. He remains optimistic that the upcoming operation will be successful, aiming for a return in the final stretch of the season, possibly even for a playoff with promotion at stake.
Scheduled for surgery on his left foot this Wednesday, after the procedure, Barcelona will release an official statement regarding Garrido’s condition.
Throughout the current season, Garrido has featured in 21 matches for Barça Atlètic, starting in 16 of them and scoring a goal in the fourth match against Fuenlabrada at the Johan Cruyff Stadium (2-2), where he opened the scoring from a pass by Marc Bernal.
