Xavi Turns Bruno’s Dream into Reality: A Special Day at FC Barcelona
The FC Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernández, recently fulfilled the dream of 12-year-old Bruno, who gained fame during the past Carnival for dressing up as Xavi during a press conference. Bruno, who faces a serious illness and relies on an electric wheelchair, impressed everyone with his impeccable imitation of the Barça coach, a moment that went viral on social media.
Thanks to the Fundació FC Barcelona, Xavi and Bruno had the opportunity to meet at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Xavi played the role of the guide during the visit, introducing Bruno to the press room and even surprising him with meetings with several first-team players, including Frenkie de Jong, Oriol Romeu, Joao Félix, Lamine Yamal, Ferran, Gavi, and Lewandowski.
In a heartfelt gesture, Xavi presented Bruno with a personalized jersey in the press room, the same place where the coach conducts his press conferences. The jersey was later signed by the players Bruno had the chance to meet. Xavi also extended an invitation to Bruno for the upcoming match against Napoli on Tuesday (Champions League Round of 16 second leg) at Montjuïc.
This meeting, part of the Fundació FC Barcelona’s “Emotional Wellbeing” program and specifically the “Ilusiones” project, aims to create positive experiences for children dealing with severe illnesses through exclusive encounters with Barça players. The encounter reflects the club’s commitment to bringing joy and unforgettable moments to those facing challenging circumstances.
