Luis Enrique Would Turn Down Barcelona to Commit to PSG
Luis Enrique, once considered a potential candidate to succeed Xavi at Barcelona starting June 30, appears to be unavailable. According to reports in France, the coach, highly regarded by players, intends to see out his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at least until 2025, as he believes in the longevity of the Parisian project. Barcelona is not on his radar, as per ‘L’Equipe.’
While Deco may have suggested Luis Enrique as an interesting candidate due to his familiarity with the club and proven coaching credentials, the former Barcelona coach is content in Paris. He feels supported by his current club, PSG, and has the backing of club president Nasser Al Khelaifi, despite recent clashes with Mbappé. The PSG owners view Luis Enrique as the ideal figure to lead the team to success, especially with the acknowledgment that Mbappé may no longer be the undisputed leader in the project.
