Exclusive Insights: Spectacular Images Unveiled for the New Spotify Camp Nou
FC Barcelona recently revealed the redevelopment project for the Spotify Camp Nou at the Colegio de Arquitectos de Catalunya (COAC). Led by club vice president Elena Fort and technical office head Lluís Moya, along with members of the project team, the presentation showcased exciting new renders of the facilities to attending architects.
The event marked the beginning of a series of organized visits by the Club, in collaboration with COAC, to the ongoing works at the Spotify Camp Nou. This initiative aligns with Barça’s goal to disseminate the project and inform, in this case, licensed architects about the construction efforts by FC Barcelona to create a new space that will stand as an architectural landmark for the city and beyond.
Lluís Moya, head of the technical office at Espai Barça, and project team members, delved into the current status of the works, providing in-depth insights into the technical and architectural aspects of the Spotify Camp Nou renovation.
Espai Barça aims to become the largest and most innovative sports and entertainment space in the heart of a major European city. The project’s distinctiveness lies in seamlessly integrating a structure covering 220,000 square meters, with a footprint of 75,000 square meters and standing 40 meters above ground, into the urban fabric of the Les Corts neighborhood. Managing the mobility of nearly 105,000 spectators and accommodating 20,000 visitors, it also houses the country’s second most significant museum facility.
A Novel Approach to Construction Innovation is woven into the project’s DNA, evident in the accelerated construction process of the Spotify Camp Nou. This approach aims to expedite the renovation, minimizing disruptions to the Les Corts neighborhood caused by construction and reducing the time spent at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. The return to the iconic blue and red home is anticipated by the end of 2024.
