Xavi Reveals Napoli Midfielder he Would Sign for Barcelona

In a press conference ahead of the pivotal Champions League round of 16 second-leg clash against Napoli, Xavi Hernandez expressed admiration for a Napoli midfielder, highlighting him as someone he would like to see in a Barcelona shirt.

Xavi lauded Napoli’s individual talents, singling out players like Politano, Osimhen, and Kvaratskhelia. However, when asked by an Italian journalist to spotlight a specific player, Xavi focused on midfielder Stanislav Lobotka. “I would say Lobotka, a player I like in terms of construction, who doesn’t lose the ball. I would like to see him somehow in a team like Barcelona. He has the level to play for a club like Barça. He makes a big difference for his team, for Napoli,” explained Xavi.

The Slovakian midfielder joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 from Celta de Vigo for €21 million. Since then, he has participated in 152 matches, scoring two goals and providing two assists. This season, Lobotka has been ever-present, featuring in all 38 games for a total of 3,201 minutes on the field. At 29 years old, his contract with Napoli runs until June 30, 2027.
