The upcoming classic match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona on April 21st is set to create another iconic moment in the history of the Blaugrana jersey. Continuing a tradition that began in October 2022, Barcelona, as part of its sponsorship agreement with Spotify, will showcase a new international artist on the front of their kit at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As confirmed by SPORT and reported by ‘El Clausulazo,’ the chosen artist for this classic encounter is Colombian singer Karol G. This marks the fourth instance in Barcelona’s history where the club will feature an artist’s logo during a Barça-Real Madrid match.

The first occasion was during the classic at the Bernabéu on October 16, 2022, where the team displayed the logo of Canadian rapper Drake’s owl. The match concluded with a convincing 3-1 victory for Real Madrid. The second instance, at the Spotify Camp Nou on March 19, 2023, featured Catalan singer Rosalía with her ‘Motomami’ logo. This collaboration brought success, as Barcelona secured a last-minute 2-1 win with a goal from Kessie, contributing to their LaLiga aspirations.

The most recent collaboration with Spotify to customize the Barcelona jersey was in October of last year, during the Montjuïc classic against Madrid, where the chosen artists were the Rolling Stones with their famous tongue logo. Unfortunately, luck was not on Barcelona’s side as they lost 1-2 after an initial goal from Gündogan.

Karol G, known as the ‘Bichota’ in the music world, will visit Spain as part of her international tour ‘Mañana será bonito Tour.’ The Colombian singer has already scheduled three concerts at the new Santiago Bernabéu on July 20, 21, and 22.

As for Barcelona, Live Nation has announced that Karol G will perform two concerts at the Estadi Olímpic Luís Companys, with the official dates yet to be confirmed. It is anticipated that the Barcelona concerts will align closely with her visit to the Bernabéu, where tickets have been sold out for months.
