Barcelona and Real Madrid to Clash at MetLife Stadium as Part of Preseason Tours It’s now official: there will be an El Clásico showdown in New York this summer. Soccer Champions Tour, the organizing company behind most of the preseason friendly matches played by top European clubs in the United States as part of their competitions, has confirmed the date for the classic encounter in American soil, which is becoming a classic in its own right.

The match will take place on August 3rd (early hours of August 4th European time), with the iconic MetLife Stadium as the venue, known for hosting the Giants and Nets, boasting a seating capacity of 82,500 spectators. This will mark the fourth Barcelona vs. Real Madrid clash in the United States, with the previous three ending in victories for the Blaugrana.

FC Barcelona has also unveiled the rest of its match schedule during the U.S. tour, including a face-off against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, as well as a third match against AC Milan.

The scheduling is heavily influenced by the extensive commitments of international players next summer, with the Euro Cup, Copa America, and the Olympic football tournament within the Paris 2024 Olympics all taking place. Both Barcelona and Madrid players will represent Spain in two competitions, similar to France or Argentina.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will also limit its American tour to three matches instead of the usual four. Apart from the Clásico against Barcelona in New York, the Whites will face Milan on July 31st at Soldier Field in Chicago, followed by the Clásico (August 3rd) and a match against Chelsea at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, with a date yet to be confirmed.
