Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona: Schedule, Where to Watch, and Potential Lineups for the Women’s Clásico
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are set to clash in the final women’s Clásico of the season. The Blaugranas aim to deal a decisive blow to the Liga F title race, extending their lead over the Merengues to 12 points.
Barcelona secured a hard-fought victory against Norwegian side Brann Kvinner (1-2) in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Despite the challenge, they approach the return leg next week with a bit more ease, right after facing Real Madrid. The Culés hold a commanding nine-point lead over their rivals, with only one draw in the entire competition and coming off a resounding 7-0 win against Tenerife. They are on track for their fifth consecutive league title, remain alive in the Champions League, and have reached the final of the Copa de la Reina.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid clinched a 1-0 victory over Eibar in their last league fixture. Although currently second in the standings, Toril’s side has been eliminated from both the Copa and the Champions League. A win against Barcelona would provide a significant confidence boost and narrow the gap to just six points behind the Culés.
This will be the third Clásico of the season. In the first encounter back in November, Barcelona routed Real Madrid 5-0 at Montjuïc. The latest match took place in January: the Supercopa semifinals ended with a convincing 4-0 victory for Barcelona, including a brace from Salma Paralleulo.
