Barça’s La Masia Sub-9 B Clinches First-Ever League Titl
The Barça Sub-9 B team has been crowned champions after a resounding victory over EF Ángel Pedraza (2-16). Under the guidance of Àlex Fernández, the team secured the league title with four matches remaining.
Previously known as Benjamín D, the team now referred to as Sub-9 B comprises players born in 2015 who have won all 21 matches they played this season, achieving a flawless record. Coaches Àlex Fernández and Alexandre Miguel led the team to their first league success at La Masia.
Aware that a victory would secure the championship, the team delivered a dominant performance against EF Ángel Pedraza, triumphing convincingly with a score of 2-16. The match held special significance as Ángel Pedraza was the first resident of La Masia to debut for the senior Barça team in 1980, an achievement commemorated by the club.
Alan Calle emerged as the top scorer of the match with four goals, supported by hat-tricks from Gio Sánchez, Issa Fofana, and Unai García. Additional goals were scored by Max Moreno, Bruno Olmos, Daniel Ribera, and Nico Garrido.
While the primary aim of Barça’s football-7 program is player development and promotion to higher categories, the competitive motivation also contributes significantly to player growth.
Winning the league title brings immense joy to players, families, coaching staff, and the club’s leadership. Congratulations to the Sub-9 B team on their historic achievement!
