Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona: Schedule, Where to Watch, and Possible Lineups for the Women’s Clásico
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are set to clash in the final women’s Clásico of the season. The Blaugranas aim to deal a decisive blow to the F League title race and extend their lead over the Merengues to 12 points.
Barcelona struggled to secure a victory against Norwegian side Brann Kvinner (1-2) in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. However, the haul is valuable, and the Blaugranas will face the return leg next week with a bit more tranquility, right after facing Real Madrid. The Catalan outfit sits nine points ahead of their opponents, firmly holding onto the top spot. They have only drawn one match throughout the competition and are coming off a 7-0 thrashing of Tenerife. The club is on track to secure their fifth consecutive league title, remains alive in the Champions League, and has reached the final of the Copa de la Reina.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid secured a 1-0 victory against Eibar in the last matchday. Toril’s team sits second in the standings but has been eliminated from both the Copa and the Champions League. A win against Barcelona would provide a confidence boost and narrow the gap to just six points behind the Blaugranas.
This will be the third Clásico of the season. In the first leg back in November, Barcelona thrashed Real Madrid with a 5-0 victory at Montjuïc. In January, the last encounter took place: the semifinals of the Supercopa ended with a convincing 4-0 win, including a brace from Salma Paralleulo.
