PSG Spares No Expense, Sets High Prices for Barça Tickets

The PSG is unyielding: favors and commitments come at a premium. Barcelona is left astonished as each ticket, beyond the essentials, will soar up to 600 euros.

Luis Enrique: “Many Barcelona players would be starters at PSG.” FC Barcelona is taken aback by the prices set by PSG for tickets to the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on April 10th. Not for those released to the public, but for those that the club can request beyond the essential ones for executives. The message from the French club is clear: favors and commitments come at a premium.

Beyond the tickets that the French club will provide to Barcelona for the top management, if the entity presided by Joan Laporta needs ‘extra’ tickets to fulfill favors or commitments with relatives or other club employees, they will have to pay a more than demanding price: 600 euros. This is the price that PSG will charge Barcelona for each ticket request.

The information has been met with disbelief by the Barcelona board, which understands that this is the most important match of the season and, therefore, it is logical for the traveling Barça delegation to be relatively large in the French capital.

Apparently, PSG members who pay the annual subscription can watch Champions League matches at no extra cost. Therefore, the Parisian club has few free or available seats to manage, hence the high prices.

Thus, the Barcelona club will have no choice but to dig into their pockets if they want to fulfill commitments beyond those set by the UEFA protocol. Those tickets are indeed free. But beyond those guaranteed for the top management, payment will be required. One by one.
