PSG Shows Interest in Koundé and Héctor Fort, United Pursues Mika Faye

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has expressed interest in Jules Koundé and Héctor Fort. The French club aims to bolster its defense for the upcoming 2024-25 season and has set its sights on the two FC Barcelona players. This information surfaced on Tuesday during the ‘Tot Costa’ program on ‘Catalunya Ràdio.’

According to the same source, two weeks ago, PSG emissaries met with representatives from FC Barcelona to discuss the situation of both players. The Catalan club responded negatively regarding Héctor Fort but indicated a willingness to negotiate Koundé’s departure.

The Barcelona technical management has full confidence in Héctor Fort, a player who has consistently performed well when given the chance, primarily in the right-back position. Moreover, his versatility allows him to cover the left-back role and even play as a central defender. His familiarity with the team’s playing style and his youth (17 years old) add further value.

Koundé, Negotiable Koundé’s situation differs. The French defender was acquired for €50 million plus €12.5 million in variable fees in 2022, meaning his transfer has not yet been fully amortized. However, his departure could slightly improve the team’s financial fair play situation. Given the surplus of players in his position, FC Barcelona is open to discussing his transfer if an interesting offer is made.

PSG has also explored the possibility of signing other FC Barcelona players, including Frenkie de Jong, Lamine Yamal, and Pau Cubarsí. However, agreements seem unlikely for the latter two, who are products of the club’s youth academy. As for the Dutch midfielder, who has been with the team for five seasons and has a contract until June 2026, his departure would need to be considered if a compelling offer arises.
