Former Corporate Director of Barça Lands New Position

Maribel Meléndez, the former Corporate Director of FC Barcelona, has taken on a new role. Meléndez left her position at the end of February. A month later, she has joined Renta Corporación as the General Corporate Director. In her new role, Meléndez will oversee the financial and operational management of the real estate company, which has its business center in Barcelona and Madrid.

Meléndez was one of the significant signings made by Joan Laporta upon his return to the helm. She played a crucial role, alongside the former economic vice president, Eduard Romeu, in securing financing for the Espai Barça from Goldman Sachs, amounting to €1.45 billion. In fact, both Meléndez and Romeu were responsible for explaining the financing deal to the media, alongside the entity’s financial director, Manel del Río.
