Guardia Civil to Investigate Whether Piqué Paid Commissions to Rubiales for Supercopa
The Guardia Civil will investigate whether Gerard Piqué paid commissions to former RFEF president Luis Rubiales or other officials to secure the Supercopa de España tournament in Saudi Arabia.
According to reports from ‘laSexta’, the Spanish law enforcement agency deems it “imperative” to verify if Piqué made payments to Rubiales or others. The Guardia Civil has access to bank transactions from accounts in Spain and seeks further information through a new international request to MoraBanc, including details of accounts from 2019 onwards.
The investigation focuses on locating the account from which Piqué allegedly transferred two million euros to a Spanish account in February 2021, as well as identifying other accounts associated with Piqué, FC Andorra, or related companies since 2019.
Sources from ‘laSexta’ highlight substantial financial transfers among accounts linked to Piqué, his circle, and the Kosmos group. They emphasize that 90% of funds leaving the account receiving payments from the Saudi public company are directed to accounts within the same group or its affiliates.
