Barcelona Implements First ‘Anti-Tiktoker’ Measures: Police Monitoring Players’ Exit from Training
On Monday, April 1st, an incident occurred near the Ciutat Esportiva involving Iñigo Martínez and a ‘tiktoker’. The Basque defender stepped out of his car to confront the underage individual regarding their behavior during the players’ departure after training sessions, a situation that apparently has become quite recurrent and led to a confrontation with the former Athletic Club player.
“This better be the last time you call me stupid, the last time you insult me, and your friend too,” Iñigo stated before returning to his car and leaving the scene. “And don’t act tough,” he added. This reaction was allegedly provoked because the young individual called the Barcelona player ‘stupid’.
The club has swiftly implemented initial measures to prevent such unpleasant incidents. This morning, during the players’ arrival and departure from training, two police cars from the Sant Joan Despí Local Police were observed. The patrols positioned themselves at the nearest roundabout to the exit of the Ciutat Esportiva, where fans usually approach the players’ cars.
As a result, there were no incidents this morning under the watchful eye of the police. FC Barcelona is seeking ways to prevent such occurrences, fearing that a more serious incident may arise at some point. However, the club faces a challenge as these incidents occur on public roads outside the Ciutat Esportiva, making it difficult to implement solutions without the assistance of the Sant Joan Despí city council.
