Return of Street Races and Chases at FC Barcelona: First ‘Anti-TikToker’ Measures Implemented and Reversed
Street races and chases, disregarding traffic rules and signals, have resumed around FC Barcelona’s facilities. The initial “anti-TikToker” measures at the club lasted only a day, leaving players to navigate the streets without police patrols or protective measures.
Now, all players follow the same routine, waiting at the barrier of the exit ramp until the traffic light turns amber before proceeding to avoid getting stuck on the road.
An incident occurred on Monday, April 1st, near the training ground involving Iñigo Martínez and a TikToker. The Basque defender confronted the underage individual over their behavior during the players’ exit after training sessions, a recurring issue that triggered Martínez’s outburst.
“This better be the last time you call me stupid, the last time you insult me, and tell your friend the same,” said Martínez before returning to his car and leaving the scene. “And don’t act tough,” he added, addressing the TikToker’s behavior.
FC Barcelona had previously implemented measures to prevent such unpleasant situations. During Wednesday’s training session, two local police cars were stationed at the entrance and exit, located near where fans typically gather. Under the watchful eye of the police, no incidents occurred.
The club continues to work on finding solutions to prevent such incidents, as they fear a more serious incident could occur at any moment. However, as the incidents take place on public roads outside the training ground, Barcelona cannot implement any measures without the assistance of the Sant Joan Despí city council.
