Barça Youth Matches Return Live on Barça One: Rekindling the Legacy of Canal Barça

Barça One, the newly launched platform by FC Barcelona, is bringing back live coverage of the club’s youth matches, following the footsteps of its predecessor Canal Barça. The debut match between Barça’s Juvenil A and Sabadell marks the beginning of this revival, airing exclusively on Barça One.

Since its inception in 1999 as Canal Barça and later rebranded as Barça TV in 2003, the official television channel of FC Barcelona has been instrumental in showcasing the talent of young players. Despite the closure of Barça TV in June 2023, the club has now introduced Barça One, ensuring the continuation of live broadcasts of youth team matches.

Canal Barça was renowned for its coverage of various youth competitions, including the Nike Premier Cup, where talents like Andrés Iniesta and Victor Valdés first caught the eye of viewers. Over the years, the platform has been pivotal in highlighting future stars such as Lionel Messi, Gerard Piqué, and Sergio Busquets during their formative years.

With the launch of Barça One, FC Barcelona aims to reignite the connection between the club’s academy, known as La Masia, and its fans. Through this platform, supporters can witness the development of promising talents like Johan Leiva and Ruslan Mba, offering a glimpse into the club’s future stars.

Barça One offers three user tiers: a free option with advertisements, a free tier with registration for personalized features, and a premium subscription for ad-free viewing and additional benefits. FC Barcelona members will receive the premium version of Barça One for free, continuing the tradition of bringing the club’s youth matches closer to its dedicated fanbase.
