SPORT has been able to confirm that the club’s intention is to renew Casadó’s contract, and the discussions regarding his continuity have been ongoing for some time now.
Marc Casadó signed a two-season contract with an optional third year in the summer of 2022. The captain of Barça Atlètic is aware of Barcelona’s interest in retaining his services, and talks are underway to extend the contractual relationship until June 2027. Casadó has played four games this season under the orders of Xavi Hernández.
The prestigious Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on his social media channels Barcelona’s intention to bet on the continuity of the Barça Atlètic midfielder Marc Casadó. This was the exact content of his information: “Barcelona has started talks with talented midfielder Marc Casadó for a new long-term contract. Talks have begun for a three-year contract until June 2027. Discussions are already progressing well, as Barcelona considers Casadó an important talent for the present and the future.”
SPORT has been able to verify that Barcelona’s interest in continuing with Marc Casadó is a fact. The initial contacts go back a long way, and the interest of both parties is to continue a relationship that began eight years ago. The Sant Pere de Vilamajor native joined as a child from Damm and has since been a key player in all the youth teams he has played for.
First-Team Dynamics
This season, he alternates his presence in Barça Atlètic with day-to-day training and call-ups with the first team. Between this season and the previous one, the versatile midfielder has played five games and a total of 58 minutes with the first team, while with the reserves, he has played 57 games, being a crucial piece for Rafa Márquez.
In the preseason of the 2022-23 season, Xavi tested Casadó as a full-back, and in the current season, Márquez has given him a role as a versatile player who often occupies the full-back position in the defensive phase and the midfielder position in the offensive phase.
