Real Madrid TV Takes Aim at Soto Grado Ahead of El Clásico
Real Madrid’s club television has released a scathing video targeting the referee of the Real Madrid-Barça clash. With the Blaugrana only managing to win two out of seven games officiated by the Riojan referee, Soto Grado, Real Madrid TV has launched a preemptive strike to pressure his performance in the upcoming match.
The grievances aired in the video are numerous: unawarded red cards to players from Betis, Barça, or Cádiz in matches against Real Madrid, as well as penalties not given that should have been, all according to this biased information from Real Madrid TV. However, the video deliberately omits Real Madrid’s statistics with Soto Grado: fifteen games, nine wins, two losses, and four draws, equating to a 60% victory rate.
Similarly, there’s a conspicuous absence of data when Soto Grado officiates Barça matches, likely because the win rate drops drastically from 60% to 28.5%, a significant disparity. In total, he has officiated seven matches involving Barça, resulting in two wins, three losses, and two draws. However, these statistics are overlooked by the television channel led by Florentino Pérez. Incidents such as the unawarded penalty in Barça’s league debut against Getafe for non-existent handball by Gavi, confirmed by the Technical Committee of Referees, or Joao Félix’s disallowed goal in Granada due to an impossible offside call by Ferran Torres, are also conveniently omitted from Real Madrid TV’s latest shameful video.
