Baltimore: FC Barcelona’s Headquarters for the American Tour
FC Barcelona, led by Xavi from the sidelines, is set to return to the United States this summer for a portion of their preseason preparations, with Baltimore serving as their base of operations. The club has announced a series of three matches on American soil, including a classic showdown.
The tour kicks off on July 30th in Orlando, where they will face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. This is followed by a clash against Real Madrid at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on August 3rd, before concluding the tour with a match against Milan in Baltimore on August 6th.
This year’s tour will be slightly shorter than previous ones due to the scheduling of the Euro and Copa America finals on July 14th. To streamline operations, Barcelona plans to establish a more permanent training base, a strategy they successfully employed last summer in Los Angeles.
Baltimore, Maryland’s most populous city, has been chosen as the team’s hub for training and preparation. Barcelona intends to travel from Barcelona to Orlando for their first match, then proceed to Baltimore, where they will be based for the remainder of the tour. A brief trip to New Jersey for the classic encounter with Real Madrid will be followed by a return to Baltimore for further training and the final match against Milan on August 6th.
After concluding the tour, Barcelona will return to Spain to begin preparations for the start of the league season, scheduled for the weekend of August 12th and 13th.
