Barça Atlètic’s forward, Diego Percan, underwent knee surgery this Monday due to an injury sustained over a week ago during their match against Lugo, where the team secured a 1-0 victory. In an unfortunate turn of events, Percan wasn’t the only one to suffer an injury during that game; Senegalese player Mamadou Mbacke also sustained an injury and is scheduled for surgery next Monday, May 6th.

The surgical procedure took place at the Barcelona Hospital and was performed by Dr. Monllau, under the supervision of the club’s medical services. Following the operation, the Barça communication department issued a statement regarding Percan’s condition.

According to reports from SPORT, the surgery was successful in reconstructing the posterior ligament in Percan’s left knee. Initial assessments indicated significant damage, involving a portion of the ligament and the semitendinosus muscle.

Now begins a lengthy recovery process expected to last around six months, subject to the player’s progression. The most optimistic projection suggests a potential return around October, by which time the new season will already be underway.
