His Agent, André Cury, Stands Firm: Tigruinho Stays at Barça or Will Only Leave Through a Sale
Barcelona’s purported definitive decision regarding Vitor Roque, as reported by SER on Monday, remains entirely unknown to the Brazilian player and his agent, André Cury. Neither the sporting director, Deco, nor Xavi Hernández has communicated to the player or his professional entourage about Barcelona’s plans for him in the upcoming season. For now, all that is certain is Xavi’s preference for the 19-year-old striker to spend a season on loan to gain experience, as has been subtly leaked.
Vitor Roque’s absence in recent matches serves as a clear message from Xavi: he is not in his plans. Consequently, Roque hasn’t played a single minute in the last month against PSG, Real Madrid, Valencia, Girona, and Real Sociedad—a period during which Barcelona suffered three defeats.
Roque’s last appearance was on April 13th when he started against Cádiz (0-1) before the Champions League quarter-final second leg against PSG.
As of now, Roque has not commented on his situation and feels disheartened. This was not the type of adaptation the club promised him when his signing was announced in the winter transfer window.
According to sources at SPORT, his agent, André Cury, remains steadfast in his position and does not entertain the possibility of a loan, believing it could further harm his client’s career prospects.
If Barcelona ultimately decides against retaining Vitor Roque for the next season, Cury will propose his permanent transfer this summer.
As of today, Deco has not informed the Brazilian representative of Barcelona’s intentions or whether Vitor Roque is part of the club’s sporting plans for the upcoming campaign.
Furthermore, the thoughts of the football director on Tigruinho’s situation, a club investment supported by the scouting department and with the personal stamp of the Portuguese-Brazilian executive, remain unknown. Roque was Deco’s first signing.
