Barcelona considering joint celebration with Espanyol if they win La Liga this weekend

Barcelona are gearing up for their potential title win this weekend with preparations already underway for their celebration. With just two points away from the La Liga title, the Blaugrana are set to face Espanyol on Sunday night. They could secure the title at the home of their rivals with a victory or if Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid fail to win.

As reported by Catalunya Radio, Barcelona is planning a joint celebration with their women’s team on Monday afternoon (May 15th), should they secure the title. The parade will not end at Camp Nou and is expected to involve an open-top bus for both teams. While the women’s team secured the title two matchdays ago, they are preparing for their upcoming Champions League final against Wolfsburg.

If Barcelona does not secure the title this weekend, they will delay their celebration until after their home match against Real Sociedad, the following weekend. It is predicted that Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation, will deliver the trophy that weekend.

The club is saving their major celebration for their final home game of the season, against Real Mallorca on May 28th. Following this, Barcelona will close out their season away to Celta Vigo on the final day of the season. Afterward, they will fly directly to Japan to take part in a friendly with Vissel Kobe.

The potential title win is a significant achievement for Barcelona, who have struggled in recent years. This season, under the guidance of new coach Xavi Hernandez, they have shown a resurgence, playing an attractive style of football and regaining their place at the top of the La Liga table.
