Jordi Alba’s next club has been revealed, and it seems they have set their sights on acquiring Ferran Torres as well.
According to reports from Goal, Jordi Alba is edging closer to a potential move to Atletico Madrid this summer. The Barcelona left-back has already agreed to depart the club as a free agent, foregoing the final year of his contract. Despite Barcelona owing him a significant sum of €35 million in deferred wages, Alba seems willing to let go of the amount, and Barca president Joan Laporta has acknowledged Alba’s contribution in assisting the club by leaving.
While Alba has received offers from Inter Milan and MLS clubs, it is believed that his preference is to continue playing in Spain. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid is also expressing interest in signing Ferran Torres. The young Spanish winger has fallen out of favor at Camp Nou and is available for sale at the right price.
However, Atleti is reportedly unwilling to match the €55 million that Barcelona paid to acquire Torres from Manchester City in January 2022. As a result, there have been talks of a potential player-plus-cash exchange between the two clubs, with Yannick Carrasco being considered as a potential player to move in the opposite direction as part of the deal. The negotiations between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid regarding Torres’ potential transfer are ongoing, and the final outcome remains to be seen.
